Robert Deurloo

Making Salmon River, Idaho his home, Robert is surrounded by the rugged mountains which are inhabited by the animals he sculpts. His sculptures are cast in bronze; a combination of intense heat and various acids and minerals produce the polished stone-appearing patinas. Robert feels that "an exquisite form, combined with a little mystery, will not only capture the spirit of the animal, but will allow the viewer to experience his own interpretation of the artwork."

Robert has been the "Featured Sculptor" at the National Zoological Society Show in Minneaplis, and has received the"Best of Class" at the National Wildlife Art Show in Kansas City and the "Knox Gallery" award at the North American Sculpyure Exhibition. His bison "Prairie Patiarch" was recently acquired by the Smithsonian Institute for permanent display in the National Museum of American Art in Washington D.C.
